That would make sense if the game was running on a server, however, with the P2P system, I hardly doubt FromSoft would attempt something so crazy. There's a collective build-up meter, meaning at least X of humanity has to be lost before one is triggered, but it draws from everyone's losses in the area online, not just your own. I've written a ton about Vagrants here, including my methods for self-spawning both Evil and Good Vagrants. No real way to identify when exactly it spawned. If I've abandoned 20 humanity 8 times, and the Vagrant shows up right after that, it could've been spawned from the ~6th lost humanity, not necessarily the most recent one. The issue is that because I'm relying on getting a Vagrant sent back to me, that works on a delay. I was expecting that it'd only work with bloodstains carrying over a certain amount, but then once I worked my way down to getting Vagrants to eventually spawn after only losing 9 humanity over and over, it makes me heavily expect that it probably works like one of the bullets suggested in the OP. I'll do this as many times as it takes for a Vagrant to appear, or until I run out of humanity on my Mega Mule character and then try again. So if I'm testing 50 humanity, I'll lose 50 humanity in a bloodstain, suicide again to lose that bloodstain, and then do it again. The odds of actually getting a return like this reliably are pretty low, but you steer things in your favor by doing it over and over. Though if another player doesn't find/kill the Vagrant you've sent them, then they'll likewise send it out to a random player they're connected to. There's no way to know when you spawn a Vagrant for another player. Bad news is, I was hoping to solve the humanity criteria, but it looks impossible. Tl:dr - Good news is I'm more confident than ever in my ability to self-spawn Vagrants when I want to, having successfully created one or more in 10/10 testing sessions. There's a collective build-up meter, meaning at least X of humanity has to be lost before one is triggered, but it draws from everyone's losses in the area online, not just your own.Įven if the former is true, with the way that self-spawning Vagrants works, we won't be able to figure it out (barring possible mods on the PC version that could help). In other words, if it requires 50 or more lost humanity, you could lose 49 humanity in a bloodstain, then lose just 1 in another bloodstain, and losing that "1" could trigger a Vagrant for a stranger online. There's a personal, hidden build-up meter that has to be surpassed, but it can be surpassed by collective losses.I think instead it's probably doing one of two other things: I'd be surprised if anything under 10 actually qualifies as a large amount, which makes me think it's not as simple as "lose >x humanity, a Vagrant has a chance to spawn for someone". Remember that the game manual says that a "large" amount of humanity has to be lost: Abandoning the following amounts over and over, I was able to eventually spawn Vagrants when losing 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 19, 10, and even 9 humanity (in the form of a lost bloodstain). Not knowing what the minimum required amount was, I figured I'd start my testing off with an amount that had to be sufficient. In the past, I only ever intentionally spawned Evil Vagrants using 99 humanity. I did a bunch more testing recently, and was surprised by the results. throwaway562205's Guide to DSFix Savegame Backupsĭemon's Souls Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3 Bloodborne Dark Souls Mods Dark Souls Help Summon Sign Dark Souls PvP One Bros Fashion Souls Snuggly Souls Trophy Requests.Mopquill's Multiplayer Level Calculator.nemesismonkey's Mugenmonkey Character Builder.
